MaineTransNet is a community based organization led by transgender people for transgender people. We provide peer-to-peer support groups, social and community events, advocacy for the transgender community across Maine, and training for medical, mental health, and social service providers.
Out in the Open connects rural LGBTQ+ people to build community, visibility, knowledge and power. We are a multiracial, majority working class, grassroots, movement and capacity building organization based in Wabanaki territory throughout the states of Vermont and Maine.
Our chapter primarily organizes in the Portland Metropolitan area, although our campaigns and projects may operate statewide and our membership draws from every county in the state.
